Omega 3 from the pure, pristine Arctic North

The salmon oil you find in OmegaMarine Forte+ comes from the Norwegian regions of Lofoten and Vesterålen, located in the arctic part of Norway, north of the polar circle. The pure, pristine, cold waters are ideal for salmon. Our partner Nordlaks is one of the world leaders in the aquaculture farming of salmon and has been a technological innovator in the large marine sector of Norway for decades.

Nordlaks was the first company in Norway to produce salmon oil for Omega-3. The company has long been a frontrunner in the sustainable harvesting of marine resources and was the first to electrify its fleet of vessels.

Nordlaks produces fresh, natural Omega-3 oils with the lowest oxidation level possible. It takes just 75 minutes from fishing the salmon from the sea until the oil is extracted. Nordlaks’ brand is SalfreshTM.

It takes only 75 minutes from fishing the salmon to extracting the oil, resulting in super-fresh Omega-3 oil.

Highly concentrated refined fish oils used for OmegaMarine Forte+ come from GC Rieber VivoMega, located in Kristiansund, Norway. It is part of the world’s leading marine cluster for Omega-3, stretching from Ålesund to Kristiansund. Most of the world’s expertise in the production of Omega-3 is situated here.

Fresh, high quality concentrated fish oil

GC Riber VivoMega produces one the world’s highest quality fish oils under the brand VivoMega. The quality of fish oil is measured by its level of oxidation. Members of GOED, the industry body for Omega-3 products, have set a voluntary monograph for fish oil, with an upper TOTOX level of 26, a measurement for oxidation. This is much more ambitious than the standard set by EU and other governments around the world. Ambitious, high-quality fish oil producers often aim for oils that have half the oxidation of GOED’s upper limit, meaning a TOTOX of 13. GC Rieber VivoMega has set a TOTOX of 10 as their maximum limit but have consistently operated in the 4 to 5 range over the last 4 years, creating fish oil of the best possible quality.

OmegaMarine Forte+ capsules are red because salmon is naturally rich in the red-colored antioxidant astaxanthin. This also explains the reddish color of salmon meat. The capsules are made by Pharmatech, a high-tech laboratory and nutraceutical production facility in Norway.
The independent laboratory Multilab, accredited by the Norwegian Institute for Food Safety (Mattilsynet), analyses and certifies every batch of OmegaMarine Forte+.
